This one sets a tone.
Welcome to a beloved mid-century modern home where design and creativity have always been at the centre of daily life. From the moment you step inside, there is a sense of intention. Clean architectural lines, warm materiality, and a natural flow that feels both effortless and deeply considered.
This is a home that has been truly well loved. Not just maintained, but lived in fully. It has held music, art, gatherings, and quiet moments in equal measure. The current owner, an artist and passionate collector of records and instruments, has shaped a space that feels expressive without ever feeling overdone.
When it came time to bring the home to market, we made a conscious decision not to strip that identity away. Instead, we curated around it. Nearly all of the original artwork remains in place, layered into the home to highlight its character. The result is a presentation that feels authentic, warm, and completely aligned with the architecture.
The home’s mid-century roots are unmistakable. Functional design, strong sightlines, and a connection between spaces that encourages both entertaining and everyday ease. The newly renovated kitchen, a project we had the opportunity to support from concept through completion, is a standout moment. It respects the original style of the home while elevating it for modern living. Clean, timeless, and quietly impactful.
Homes like this do not come along often. Not because of square footage or specs, but because of feeling.
This is a home with a past, a point of view, and a future waiting for the next person to add their own layer.
Our Artist in Residence
Tom Heinar
“Ideas must be seized, before inspirations escape.”
Tom Heinar is a Toronto-based artist whose work explores spontaneity through scenes and movements drawn from everyday life.
His practice balances refined technique with improvisation, treating each piece as a live response to the moment it captures. There is a rhythm to his process, where one mark calls for the next, building a visual dialogue across the surface. Over time, Heinar has developed an expansive body of work spanning music, sport, dance, urban collage, landscape, portraiture, and still life.
Materiality plays a central role in his work. Heinar employs a wide range of tools and media, including rubber spatulas, palette knives, oil sticks, and even his hands. His pieces often incorporate printed text and magazine clippings, layered onto found surfaces, recycled materials, and canvas, adding texture and narrative to each composition.
In recent years, his focus has shifted toward local scenes. Rather than aiming for literal representation, Heinar allows each mark to inform the next, letting the materials guide the evolution of the piece and ultimately shape the final image.
